Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how App Tricks Studio handles information for Detectea, our iOS mystery game. Detectea lets players investigate fictional copied-phone content, send evidence in an in-game chat, answer short deduction prompts, use hints, and progress through story episodes.

Detectea does not show real private phone content. Characters, messages, photos, receipts, calls, notes, apps, and stories in the game are fictional and created for gameplay.

Information We Collect

Detectea does not require you to create a visible account. The app may create an anonymous backend account identifier so it can run the game and save your progress.

• Anonymous account information: an anonymous user ID used to save progress, premium state, hint usage, analytics events, and notification-token ownership.
• Gameplay and progress information: current episode, completed requests, submitted proof IDs, hint usage, short text answers, solved cases, XP, badges, and related gameplay state.
• Gameplay analytics: basic product events such as app opens, episode starts, request completions, proof submissions, text-answer submissions, hint use, paywall interactions, review prompt attempts, case completion, app version, and related event properties.
• Answer validation: short answers may be sent to our backend so they can be checked against the expected meaning for the current puzzle.
• Push notifications: if you allow notifications, Detectea may store your Apple Push Notification service device token to send case reminders, new-case updates, or in-story message updates.
• Purchase information: if paid features are offered and you make a purchase, purchases are handled by Apple. Detectea may store entitlement status, product identifiers, and expiration information so the app can unlock paid content. We do not receive your App Store payment card details.
• Support information: if you contact us, we may receive your email address, message, app version, anonymous support ID, and any information you choose to include.

How We Use Information

• Run the game and save player progress.
• Validate proof submissions and short deduction answers.
• Provide hints, premium access, purchase restoration, and case progression.
• Send notifications if you opt in.
• Understand basic gameplay funnel performance and improve the app.
• Respond to support requests and investigate technical issues.
• Comply with legal, tax, security, and App Store obligations.

Service Providers

We use trusted service providers to operate Detectea:

• Supabase for anonymous authentication, database storage, progression, analytics, Edge Functions, and notification-token storage.
• OpenAI through a backend Edge Function for short-answer classification when a puzzle uses AI-assisted validation.
• Apple StoreKit and the App Store for purchases, subscriptions, purchase restoration, and payment processing.
• Superwall for paywall presentation and entitlement-related purchase events if paid features are enabled.
• Apple Push Notification service for notifications when you opt in.

AI-Assisted Answer Validation

Some short answers may be processed by an AI model through our backend to classify whether the answer matches the expected idea for a puzzle. This is used only as an answer judge. It does not create the story, write client dialogue, or make independent decisions about the narrative.

Tracking and Advertising

Detectea does not use the information described in this policy to track you across third-party apps or websites for advertising. We do not sell personal information.

Your Choices

• You can decline or disable push notifications in iOS settings.
• You can manage or cancel App Store subscriptions in your Apple ID subscription settings.
• You can contact us to ask for access, correction, deletion, or export of information associated with your anonymous account, where required by law.

Data Retention

We keep gameplay progress, entitlement state, analytics events, support messages, and related records for as long as needed to operate Detectea, improve the product, maintain security, resolve support requests, and meet legal or platform obligations. If you ask us to delete data, we will process the request unless we need to keep certain information for legitimate operational, legal, or security reasons.

Children

Detectea is not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, when appropriate, provide additional notice.
