HOTRUN
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 17, 2026
Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how App Tricks Studio handles information for HOTRUN, our iOS fitness running game. HOTRUN uses your device's front camera to turn movements such as stepping sideways, jumping, and squatting into game controls.
HOTRUN is designed so that camera images and body-pose detection stay on your device. Camera images are not recorded, uploaded, or shared by HOTRUN.
Information We Process
HOTRUN does not require you to create an account. Depending on how you use the app, it may process:
- Camera and body-pose information: live frames from the front camera are analyzed in real time on your device using Apple's Vision framework. HOTRUN derives temporary body-joint coordinates and movement signals only to control the game. It does not take or save photos, record video, identify you, use face recognition, or send camera frames or pose data to us or third parties.
- Onboarding and fitness preferences: information you choose to provide, such as your fitness goals, activity level, previous workout habits, barriers, weekly workout goal, movement-impact preference, and motivation preferences. These answers are stored locally on your device and used to personalize the experience.
- Game progress and preferences: onboarding completion, workout access, premium status, and similar app settings. Detailed saved state is stored locally on your device. Limited information about progress and feature use may also be included in the product analytics described below.
- Usage and product analytics: we use PostHog to collect information about how HOTRUN is used. This may include anonymous or pseudonymous app or installation identifiers, session starts and duration, screens and features used, onboarding, gameplay and workout events, progress and interactions, paywall and purchase-flow interactions, crashes and performance, app version, device model, operating system, language, and similar technical information. We use this data to understand usage patterns, measure product funnels and feature performance, diagnose issues, and improve HOTRUN. Product analytics do not include camera images or raw body-pose data.
- Purchase information: if paid features or subscriptions are offered, Apple processes the payment. HOTRUN and its subscription-management provider may receive an app user identifier, product identifiers, transaction and entitlement status, expiration dates, and purchase-restoration information. We do not receive your payment card details.
- Attribution and advertising measurement: we use AppsFlyer to understand which advertising campaigns lead to installs, completed onboarding, trials, and subscriptions. AppsFlyer may process device and attribution signals including IDFV, an AppsFlyer installation identifier, IP address, and, only when you grant permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt, IDFA. An IP address may be used to infer a general or coarse location such as a country or region; HOTRUN does not provide precise GPS location to AppsFlyer or advertising partners. AppsFlyer also supports Apple's privacy-preserving SKAdNetwork and AdAttributionKit methods. TikTok and Meta may receive limited install, app-open, onboarding, trial, subscription, and purchase measurement data from AppsFlyer. Subscription events follow a RevenueCat to AppsFlyer to advertising-partner pipeline; HOTRUN does not use a direct RevenueCat-to-Meta integration. For Meta, Advanced Data Sharing is enabled to support Aggregated Event Measurement and SKAN. Even when you do not authorize tracking, AppsFlyer may send eligible install, app-open, and conversion events to Meta with IP address, IDFV, an AppsFlyer identifier, and technical app or device information, but without IDFA, for aggregated measurement. Advanced Matching Data Sharing remains disabled: email addresses and phone numbers are not sent for matching. Camera images, body-pose observations, fitness goals, and workout preferences are not provided to AppsFlyer, TikTok, or Meta. The optional onboarding answer about where you first heard about HOTRUN is used for internal analysis and is not sent to TikTok or Meta as an advertising-event parameter.
- Support information: if you contact us, we may receive your email address, message, app version, device and iOS information, and anything else you choose to include, such as screenshots.
- Diagnostics: Apple may provide crash or performance information if you have chosen to share diagnostics with app developers. This information helps us identify technical issues and improve HOTRUN.
Camera and Body-Pose Processing
Camera access is used only while HOTRUN needs movement controls or a camera preview. Processing happens on your device. Live frames are discarded as they are processed, and temporary joint coordinates and movement signals are not retained after they are needed for gameplay.
You can deny or revoke camera permission in iOS Settings. Without camera access, movement-controlled gameplay may not work, but you can still open the app and access features that do not require movement detection.
How We Use Information
- Detect movements on your device and translate them into game controls.
- Personalize HOTRUN and remember local progress and preferences.
- Analyze product usage, measure feature and funnel performance, and improve the app.
- Manage premium access, subscriptions, and purchase restoration.
- Measure advertising attribution and campaign performance.
- Respond to support requests and investigate technical issues.
- Maintain security, improve app reliability, and comply with legal and App Store obligations.
Service Providers
HOTRUN may use trusted providers only as needed to operate specific features:
- Apple for the App Store, in-app purchases, subscriptions, purchase restoration, and optional diagnostics.
- PostHog for product analytics, including usage, technical, and performance data.
- RevenueCat for subscription and entitlement management and subscription measurement.
- AppsFlyer for mobile attribution and advertising campaign measurement.
- TikTok and Meta as advertising partners for campaign delivery and measurement.
- Crisp for customer support if in-app support chat is enabled.
Apple's Vision framework performs HOTRUN's body-pose detection locally on your device. Camera frames and raw pose data are not sent to PostHog, RevenueCat, Crisp, AppsFlyer, TikTok, Meta, or any other service provider.
Tracking and Advertising
HOTRUN does not display third-party advertising or sell personal information. AppsFlyer, TikTok, and Meta are used to attribute installs and limited in-app conversion events to HOTRUN advertising campaigns and to measure campaign performance.
On iOS, access to IDFA and cross-app tracking is requested through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you grant permission, device identifiers and limited attribution, onboarding-completion, trial, subscription, and purchase events may be used for advertising measurement. If you deny permission, HOTRUN does not access IDFA. Attribution can instead rely on IDFV, AppsFlyer's installation identifier, an IP-derived coarse location, aggregated reporting, Meta's Aggregated Event Measurement, and Apple's privacy-preserving attribution technologies. These methods do not give HOTRUN access to precise location and do not recreate an IDFA. Denying tracking does not block any workout, gameplay, purchase, or subscription feature.
You can change your tracking choice later in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.
Data Retention and Deletion
Camera frames and body-pose data are not retained. Onboarding answers, progress, entitlements, and preferences stored locally remain on your device until you reset them where that option is available or uninstall the app. Product analytics and diagnostic records may be kept for as long as reasonably needed to understand usage, improve HOTRUN, maintain security, and meet legal obligations. Aggregated or de-identified information may be retained longer. Apple, RevenueCat, PostHog, AppsFlyer, TikTok, Meta, and support providers may retain purchase, diagnostic, or support records according to their own policies and as required for legal, fraud-prevention, security, and support purposes.
You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information held by App Tricks Studio, where applicable. Because local-only information is not available to us, you can remove it by resetting the app data where supported or uninstalling HOTRUN.
Children
HOTRUN is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect camera footage or body-pose data from children. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through a support request, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and provide additional notice when appropriate.
